To commemorate International Women’s Day on 8th March and March being Women’s History Month, here are some female music acts that are our #Galspiration!
Anne-Marie
Being the female vocals behind UK Singles number one hit “Rockabye” by Clean Bandit featuring Sean Paul, Anne-Marie is one rising singer to look out for. She just recently swung by Singapore in February. Her latest single FRIENDS has been dubbed the “OFFICIAL FRIENDZONE ANTHEM” so do keep a lookout for her and her very first studio album slated for release in April 2018.
Dua Lipa
Since her exclusive Singapore showcase in May 2017, Dua Lipa has taken radio waves by storm. Her single “New Rules” earned her the first top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number six and the music video made Youtube history surpassing a billion views. Her latest song, “IDGAF” is not only a bopper but a visual spectacle as well. She’ll be back in town this May 2018 so make sure to catch her live in concert!
Cardi B
Cardi B is not just a talented rapper but this lady behind “Bodak Yellow” sure has a sense of humour and finesse. During the recent iHeartRadio awards, she took home the award for best new artist and thanked both her fans and haters. She also announced an April 2018 release for her debut album.
Jess Glynne
Another female artist that has worked with Clean Bandit is Jess Glynne and their song “Rather Be” won a Grammy in 2014. Glynne had also appeared as a guest judge on the the twelfth series of The X Factor in the following . She has since made her comeback in January 2018 featuring in Rudimental’s new single “These Days” alongside Macklemore and Dan Caplen, which charted successfully on the UK Singles Chart.
Janelle Monae
Possibly most recognizable as the featuring vocals on 2011’s hit “We Are Young” with fun., Janelle Monae is a talented singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, actress, and model. As of late, she has starred in Hidden Figures and Oscar winning film Moonlight in 2016. She has remained active in music despite her acting career and is set to release her third studio album Dirty Computer in April 2018.
